The Secret to Crystal Clear Water: Regular Filter Cleaning
Your filter is the kidney of your pool. If it's clogged with dirt and oils, your water will suffer. Learn why deep ...
Read Guide →Your pool's equipment pad is the beating heart of your entire system. The pump circulates the water, the filter cleans it, and the heater warms it. When one of these vital organs starts failing, it doesn't just affect the water quality—it puts the entire system at risk.
At AV Pool Pros, we constantly see minor, inexpensive issues turn into massive replacement bills because they were ignored for too long.
Common Equipment Warning Signs
- Loud Screeching or Grinding: This usually indicates failing bearings inside your pool pump motor. If caught early, a motor rebuild is possible. If left alone, the entire motor will seize and burn out.
- Leaking Water: A small puddle under your pump or filter means a seal or o-ring has failed. While the part itself costs pennies, a continuous leak will eventually corrode the equipment pad and can ruin the pump motor.
- Low Water Pressure: If your return jets feel weak, you likely have a clogged impeller, a dirty filter, or a suction-side leak. This strains the pump and leads to poor water circulation, which invites algae.
- Heater Not Igniting: Often caused by a dirty sensor, a bad thermal regulator, or insufficient water flow.
