- Thermal Overload: The ambient air temperature is 110Β°F. The concrete pad radiating heat is 130Β°F. The motor itself generates heat. The internal thermal switch trips, shutting the pump down to prevent a fire.
- Bearing Grease Melts: The intense, sustained heat literally liquefies and bakes away the grease inside the motor bearings. Once the bearings run dry, you will hear a high-pitched screaming or grinding noise.
- Melted Capacitors: The start capacitor (which gives the motor the jolt it needs to turn on) overheats and bulges, leaving the motor humming but unable to spin.
